Let's Go Snowshoeing! (Tours suspended until next snow storm)
Come celebrate our winter wonderland by playing in it! The Discovery Center is offering guided snowshoe tours this winter for visitors and residents to explore scenic areas around Big Bear Lake. A naturalist will lead you through the forest where you will learn about winter ecology and natural history of the Big Bear Valley. Tour is suitable for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts. Meet at the Big Bear Discovery Center. Snowshoes and snack provided, participants caravan to site. Call to reserve your spot today! (909) 866-3437. Reservations are recommended; tours are limited to 12 people. Tours are weather dependent, so please call to check snow conditions.
Fee: Adults: $30, Children (8-12): $20
Member Rate: Adults $25, Children (8-12) $15
Date: Saturdays 9am-12pm & 1pm-4pm and Sundays 9am-12pm; December 31 through March 4.
Nature Walks!
Saturdays; 1pm & 2pm
Sundays; 11am & 12pm
Join us for a 30-minute nature walk on Saturdays and Sundays to learn about the local plant life, wildlife and some very interesting historical facts. Great activity for families and individuals who want to gain a greater appreciation for our local mountains. Nature walks are not strenuous and designed for all levels of physical conditioning.
