Guided Tours ~ Summer 2012

Canoe Tours

Learn how to canoe on a leisurely 2-hour guided tour of beautiful Big Bear Lake. After a quick paddling lesson, you will cruise along the shore looking for beaver, great blue herons, and ducklings. Along the way you will learn the natural history of the Big Bear Valley along with the various flora and fauna found in the area. Children must be at least 6 years old and all children need to be accompanied by an adult. Includes water and a snack. Tours caravan to lake. Tours are limited to 16 people, reservations recommended. Fee: Adults $20, Children (6-12) $10
Dates:
Thursdays: 4pm-6pm (June 14 – August 30)
Fridays: 4pm-6pm (May 25 – August 31)
Sundays: 1pm-3pm (May 27 – September 2)

Kayaking Tours

Learn how to kayak on a guided tour of Big Bear Lake. After a quick paddling lesson, you will cruise along the shore looking for wildlife and discuss the natural history of the Big Bear Valley. Children must be at least 10 years old and all children need to be accompanied by an adult. Includes water and a snack. Tour caravans to lake. Tours limited to 12 people, reservations required. Guided Nature Walks
Saturdays; 1pm & 2pm
Sundays; 11am & 12pm
Join us for a 30-minute nature walk on Saturdays and Sundays to learn about the local plant life, wildlife and some very interesting historical facts. Great activity for families and individuals who want to gain a greater appreciation for our local mountains. Nature walks are not strenuous and designed for all levels of physical conditioning.

Guided Night Hike
Join a Discovery Center Naturalist to explore how the forest changes as the sun goes down. Meet at Serrano campground kiosk at 7:30pm. Hikes are not strenuous and designed for all skill levels. Free!
