Rent the Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater

Experience your special event in a magical setting nestled among the majestic Jeffry and Pinion Pines, Western Junipers, and Mountain Mahogany along with and the amenities of the Discovery Center Amphitheater to create a very unique atmosphere for your event.

Move out of the ballrooms and come up for fresh, cool air while creating personal memories or reaching “beyond the summit” for your next meeting or team building event.

Rental Hours:

Summer Season (Memorial to Labor Day Weekends)
4:30pm event start to 11:00pm
(set up times negotiable)
All Other Seasons
Event times negotiable

Amenities Include:
  • Stage
    Stage with full electrical
    Backstage and (2) dressing areas
    No attached bathrooms; located within steps behind snack bar
  • Seating
    Bench seating for 250
    Additional seating space for 100
    between stage and fixed bench seating
    Casual open seating behind bench seating and upper level
    to accommodate additional 250 (guests to bring own chairs)
  • Snack Bar
    Includes full serving bar to public with roll top
    Use of ice machine and refrigerators
    Small sink with running water
    Electrical outlets
    Enclosed and spacious
  • Signage
    Banners, free-standing signs, ground-mounted signs
    Signage may be hung or posted as long as space is
    returned to original condition
  • Lighting & Electrical
    Stadium lighting in Amphitheater
    Pathway lighting
    Snack bar lighting
    Parking lot lighting
    Electrical as mentioned plus outlets on pathway light stanchions
  • Food & Beverages
    Nonprofits may bring in own
    Private & for profit rentals negotiable
    Or, talk to us about arranging your catering
  • Restrooms
    Men’s and Women’s located behind snack bar

    Summer Season ~ All 3 lots after 4:30pm ~ approx. 100 spaces
    (Center closes to public @ 4:30p)
    All other seasons
    Negotiable based upon event timing
Clients to provide:
  • Audio/visual equipment
  • Tables and chairs
  • Eazy Ups
  • All catering equipment
  • Trash removal if excessive
Maintenance

All facilities will be cleaned and stocked upon release of space
Trash lined receptacles will be placed accordingly depending upon the functions
Client is responsible for placing all trash in receptacles
Snack bar if used to be restored to original condition
Rental fee includes maintenance of restrooms post-event and trash removal

Rental rates start at $500 for weekday; $1,000 for weekends
Special rates available for nonprofits
