Come celebrate our winter wonderland by playing in it! The Discovery Center is offering guided snowshoe tours this winter for visitors and residents to explore scenic areas around Big Bear Lake. A naturalist will lead you through the forest where you will learn about winter ecology and natural history of the Big Bear Valley. Tour is suitable for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts. Meet at the Big Bear Discovery Center. Snowshoes and snack provided, participants caravan to site. Call to reserve your spot today! (909) 866-3437. Volunteer to help Forest Service Biologists count the eagles wintering around Big Bear Lake.  No experience necessary.  Dress warm and bring your own binoculars.  Meet at the Discovery Center at 8am.

Join the Discovery Center for a tribute to Big Bear's most famous residents!  Robin Eliason, USFS Wildlife Biologist, will be giving an exciting presentation about Bald Eagles.  Free~ Donations appreciated.

  Animal Tracking

Come learn how to track animals found in the forest.  Learn how tracks are cast and make your very own.  After creating your animal track, a naturalist will guide you on a 20 minute walk around the grounds searching for sings of animals; program runs continuously every 30 minutes.  Fee: $3
